CASE STUDY:
M&A Legal Project Management

Keeping high-value M&A transactions on track without breaking in-house capacity.

Following a strategic change of direction, our client, a major European electricity producing company and energy service provider, became acquisitional with a focus on ready-to-build energy projects in support of the energy transition.

Despite having a relatively large in-house legal team spread across numerous European jurisdictions, the significant pressures placed on the Head of Legal and the in-house team from these M&A projects, in addition to the BAU workload, was proving difficult to resource.

Maven Radd offered a highly flexible engagement model, with a focus on reliable and cost-certain legal support to cope with the irregular resourcing challenges presented by transactional project work; subsequently providing the client with an experienced in-house lawyer with highly relevant sector experience.

Maven Radd’s model allowed the client to size its utilisation of legal support from transaction-to-transaction.  This enabled the Head of Legal to focus on managing the Legal team and to support the client’s navigation of its strategic objectives.

Further, the commitment of the Maven Radd lawyer to spend time in the client’s offices, meant that Maven Radd became viewed as an integral part of the in-house Legal team, enhancing the overall offering and accessibility of legal support to the business.
